NSE pressmeddelande

2023-01-25

On May 9–10th, sustainability experts, decision makers, politicians, researchers, businesses, organizations and experts will once again meet at Stockholmsmässan during Nordic Sustainability Expo. For two days, they will work together to accelerate the transition to a sustainable society. Among the speakers are We Don't Have Times founder Ingmar Rentzog, Stockholm City's climate and environmental citizen councilor Åsa Lindhagen, Alexandre Antonelli professor at the University of Oxford and one of the world's foremost experts on species and biodiversity.

With Sweden as the EU's presidency during the first half of 2023, the spotlight is on Sweden. In times of climate crisis, energy crisis and unrest in our surrounding world, a meeting place for discussion and cooperation is needed. In May, speakers, exhibitors and thousands of visitors meet at Stockholmsmässan to network, enter into partnerships, exchange knowledge and experiences with each other.

− We need to take action to reach Sweden's climate goals and manage to change in time. Business is pushing these issues, so our unique meeting place for sustainable business is more relevant than ever. This year, collaboration with more actors begins and the ambition is to go from discussion to Acceleration, Implementation and Action, says Anders Torkelson, Nordic Sustainability Expo project manager.

Nordic Sustainability Expo takes its starting point from the UN's global goals and is co-organized with Cradlenet - the network for circular economy, A Sustainable Tomorrow and CSR Sweden. This year's focus areas are: Sustainable Cities and Social Responsibility Circular consumption and production and Climate change.

− A Nordic collaboration fair to accelerate the transition to a sustainable and circular society in the region is needed more than ever. NSE23 is one of the most important and exciting meeting places for consumers, customers, employees, authorities and the financial market who together want to increase the pace of change work at the Nordic level. At the Expo, we also gather the very best speakers who sit on the future solutions that need to be scaled up - a perfect place to find out about the latest in sustainability that will affect your own business in the near future. You simply cannot miss the Nordic Sustainability Expo, says Elin Bergman, COO at Cradlenet.

− CSR Sweden is very much looking forward to meeting for the second year in a row at the Nordic Sustainability Expo. What I appreciate about this meeting place is that the various sustainability issues have a roof under which to gather. Unfortunately, it is often the case that we separate environmental and climate issues from the social challenges. Now that ESG as a concept is highly topical, and legislation around reporting is rolling in, it is important to get order on how sustainability matters to the company and how the company affects people and the planet. Here you will definitely get many good opportunities to explore this, and also share your own experiences, says Marianne Bogle, operations manager CSR Sweden.
